Academic Policy

 

Effective, starting the Winter 2004 Semester:

The Faculty of Business Administration will review the performance of all BUS students with term GPAs of less than 65% (at the end of the previous semester).

All Faculty of Business Administration students with term GPAs of less than 65% will be subject to the following actions. The Faculty of Business Administration will:

  1. Place an academic hold on the student’s account restricting the student from registering in upcoming semesters;

  2.  
  1. Schedule a mandatory meeting with the student and academic advisor where a probationary contract will be presented with the goal and intention of the student earning a term GPA of at least 65% in future semesters. The probationary contract may include, but is not limited to,:

  1. Restricting the number of courses the student takes in the current or upcoming semesters;

  2. Creating a study/academic plan; and/or,

  3. Attending on-going counselling throughout the student’s program.

  1. A student who fails to adhere to the probationary contract or who does not attend the mandatory counselling session will automatically be required to discontinue from the Faculty for two terms (8 months). Readmission will be at the sole discretion of the Dean or designate.
