Feminist methods, theories, and epistemologies; popular culture; globalization; feminist history; gender and sexuality studies (ancient and modern); approaches to the study of religion; symbol, myth, and ritual (ancient and modern); folk religions, shamanism, and possession; cross cultural study of religion, ancient Greek and Roman religions; ritual associated with death and burial (ancient and modern)

Darlene Juschka is an associate professor in the Women's and Gender Studies Program and the Religious Studies Department at the University of Regina, Saskatchewan Canada. Her work is multidisciplinary with a B.A. in Classical Studies, a M.A. in ritual studies (ancient and modern), and a PhD in the Phenomenology of Religion (ritual, myth, and symbol) and religion and feminism. She has currently begun a second writing project - a poststructural analysis of the concept of pain in the Eurowest, and is working on two major research projects; "The Healing Journey: A Longitudinal Study of Women Who Have Been Abused by Intimate Partners"
 
In 2001 she edited and published the text Feminism in the Study of Religion: A Reader. (London and New York: Continuum) and has written a number of articles and chapters for books, a sample of which is below.
She has currently completed a new text Political Bodies-Body Politic: The Semiotics of Gender with an anticipated publication date of fall 2009/winter 2010 through Equinox Press, and has begun a new writing project "Contours of the Flesh: The Semiotics of Pain."
