The "Admission" or "Entrance Scholarship” Average

Unless otherwise stated in the selection criteria for the award, and except as noted for athletic entrance scholarships in (see §7.3.2 of the Undergraduate Calendar) the admission average for purposes of entrance scholarships and bursaries is the average calculated for early conditional admission from high school (see §2.3.3 of the Undergraduate Calendar) The Admissions or Entrance scholarship average is used to award scholarships, and for students currently attending high school is calculated on the final marks of the courses shown below: 

  • On or before June 15th, the highest final marks of 20-level or 30-level courses taken prior to or during the 1st semester of grade 12, are used to calculate the average.
  • After June 15th, only final marks of 30-level courses, are used to calculate the average.

Note: The University of Regina reserves the right to limit entrance scholarship average calculations to final 30-level courses, for any student who has met final admission requirements to the University.

  1. One course in English Language Arts, Français immersion, or Français fransaskois (20 or 30)
  2. One of Math 20, Math A30, Math B30, Calculus or Math C30
  3. One course from List A (20 or 30 level)
  4. One course from List B (20 or 30 level)
  5. One further elective from list A or B

Notes:

  1. A second 30 level course in English Language Arts, Français Immersion,or Français fransaskois may be used as a 5th subject
  2. A maximum of 2 math courses may be used including Math 20
  3. A maximum of one (marked *) can be used
  4. Requirements 3, 4, and 5 must be met by different subjects

Students who qualify for admission are considered to have the minimum academic standing required for an entrance bursary.
