Re-Evaluate Career Direction
If you're a U of R Alumnus, the following resources, strategies and skills can help with making informed decisions and re-decisions about your current career direction.
- Attend the session Choose or Re-Evaluate Your Career Direction. Conduct self-assessment, explore educational and employment opportunities, and continue re-evaluating your career direction. Learn about make informed re-decisions about your direction and managing your career well.
- Re-evaluate your current situation and direction. Reflect and ask yourself:
- To realize greater satisfaction, what do I need more or less of?
- Do I want to continue in the same direction?
- Or do I need to shift to something related?
- Or change to a new field?
- To realize greater satisfaction, what do I need more or less of?
- Keep actively managing your career development. As you re-evaluate your current direction, you may need to do more activities for making informed career re-decisons:
- Know Yourself (self-assessment resources and activities)
- Explore Your Options (opportunities for study and/or work)
- Why prematurely close your options? Keep options open while allowing yourself time to do more activities related to self-assessment and exploration. Enjoy discovering more about yourself and new opportunities for study and/or work!
- Arrange career counselling. For individual assistance with career-related concerns, contact the Career Centre about meeting with a Career Counsellor.
