Bev Dyck

Conservatory Instructor
Piano, Theory, Accompaniment

In Her Studio:

Bev Dyck teaches piano and theory with the Conservatory. Lessons with Bev cost $60 per hour of teaching. She is accepting new students at this time. Bev will teach students ages 6 and up, and prefers to teach intermediate students, though she enjoys teaching at any level. In Bev’s studio, students are strongly encouraged to work towards exams, required to participate in recitals, and not required to participate in Music Festival. She teaches Classical music, with occasional pop/musical theatre music. Bev requires students to supply their own books (Bev will advise), and to have a piano at home for practice. If piano is electric, it must have weighted keys, a pedal, and the full 88 keys. Bev’s practice policy depends on the student, and will be discussed during lessons. Bev prefers to teach dedicated students with supportive parents.

Biography:

Her students regularly perform in recitals and do RCM exams. Competitions such as Auditioned Scholarships and Music Festival are encouraged and Theory is a regular part of most lessons. Numerous award winners are among her past and present students and many have gone on to music careers of their own.
