Wayne Gibson accompanies Conservatory recitals and may be available for limited one-on-one accompaniment sessions as well.


Biography:

Wayne Gibson earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sacred Music degree from Prairie College and his Grade 10 Certificate in Piano Performance from Royal Conservatory of Music. He has more than 20 years of experience as a piano and voice teacher, accompanist, studio musician, composer, and songwriter. He is certified as an Elementary and Intermediate Specialist in both voice and piano with the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto and has extensive experience as a collaborative pianist for vocal and instrumental soloists, including at the Provincial and National Music Festival, as well as accompanying choral ensembles, jazz bands, and stage musical productions. His own performance resumé includes the University of Saskatchewan Wind Orchestra (oboe), Prairie College Ambassador Choir (tenor), a recording of his own original material, Testify, in 2007. He has been privileged to study under a number of distinguished teachers including Maestra Tania Miller, Angie Tysseland, Sandy Stephenson, Michelle Crouch, and Dale Wheeler. Since moving to Regina in August 2018, Wayne has been privileged to perform with the U of R Concert Choir and Regina Symphony Orchestra, and Exclamation Productions. In addition to his musical background, Wayne is a certified Solution-Focused Coach through Erickson International and holds a Graduate Certificate in Professional Communication Management. He is currently a Senior Communications Strategist with the City of Regina.
