Alaina Majewski

Conservatory Instructor
Cello

In Her Studio:

Alaina Majewski teaches cello with the Conservatory. Lessons with Alaina cost $57 per hour of instruction. She is accepting students at this time. Alaina will teach students ages 3 and up, and will teach any level of student although her preference is the beginner and intermediate levels. In Alaina’s studio students are not required to work towards exams, participate in recitals or participate in music festival but will be encouraged to do so if it will help their growth as a musician. Alaina teaches classical music but is willing to include pieces from other genres such as pop and Broadway if it is level appropriate and serves a purpose (fun is a valid purpose). She requires students to supply their own cello, bow and rosin (which can be bought or rented from Long and McQuade or the Sound Post). Instrument sizing for younger students will be determined at the first meeting. Typically any student five feet or taller will need a 4/4 cello although hand width and arm length do play a role in determining proper cello size. Her practice policy will be discussed in detail with student/parents but as a general rule you should only practice on the days you eat or on days ending with the letter y, whichever occurs more frequently.
