Co-op Spotlight - Jamie Kilkenny
Jamie Kilkenny is a Fourth Year Industrial Systems Engineering Co-op Student who completed a Summer 2009 Work Term with the Wind Energy Institute of Canada (WEICan) in Prince Edward Island.

WEICan is a leader in wind energy research and development in Canada and has enjoyed this role for more than 25 years since it began operations in the early 80s. Jamie’s Work Term at WEICan was spent…..
- Analyzing data from turbine instrumentation
- Generating reports to fulfill WEICan contracts with turbine manufacturers
- Developing projects in WindPRO, a wind energy software used to model wind farms
- Investigating turbine manufacturers and other test sites
- Assisting with the assembly and disassembly of different small turbines on the site
- Enjoying life and experiencing the vibrant culture of Canada’s smallest province
- Meeting wonderful people and making friendships that will last a lifetime!

The people who work at the institute have an abundance of knowledge on the many aspects of small wind turbine testing and certification. They are patient and eager to teach and share new perspectives on how to advance the development of wind energy.
