Copyright

Welcome to the University of Regina’s copyright website. The use of copyright protected works is a regular part of research, teaching, and learning. The University of Regina and its federated colleges encourage all members of the university community to ensure that in the exercise of their user rights, the rights of creators are also respected in accordance with the Copyright Act. It is the responsibility of each individual to ensure compliance with the Copyright Act as well as university policies, guidelines, and licensing agreements. This site includes information to support you in that regard.

On August 31, 2016, the University’s licence with Access Copyright expired. If you have any questions, please contact the University’s Copyright and Scholarly Communications Librarian at christina.winter@uregina.ca for more information and assistance in preparing for the Winter 2024 semester.

As of December 30, 2022, the general term of copyright protection is now 70 years after the death of the author.
