About

The Faculty of Fine at the University of Regina is designed, in all its aspects, to provide the student with the very best environment for creative expression. The contemporary, well-planned facilities are the ideal environment for developing the artistic mind. A dynamic faculty of working artists with international experience live at the cutting edge of art in Canada.

All Fine arts programs include a balance of liberal arts subjects. Studies in liberal arts are essential to the examination of that which is essentially human and encourage the development of observational and critical analysis skills that must necessarily inform modern artistic expression.

Admission Requirements:

Admission to the Faculty of Fine Arts requires a minimum overall average of 65% on five approved 30-level courses (English or English Language Arts A30, English or English Language Arts B30, and three additional 30-level courses).

There are special admission requirements for some departments.

Students are encouraged to examine offerings in the department that best responds to individual creative interest.

Media Production and Studies students experience the widest possible range of learning experiences within a broad-based education program in film, video and new, digital media.

The Music Department allows unrivaled access to ensembles, recitals and community-and university-based organizations and events. Excellence of faculty and staff and top quality education are the hallmarks of the Music Department.

In the Theatre Department students experience professional training, hands-on theatrical work and liberal arts studies in facilities that are second to none. Professional fieldwork rounds out the range of degree programs available through this department.

Visual Arts studies may include sculpture, ceramics, art history, or any number of fascinating expressive media. Small classes, experienced, practicing faculty and bright, spacious and modern facilities ensure the best possible learning environment for Visual Arts students.

The University of Regina Faculty of Fine Arts is one of only a select few post-secondary institutions in Canada to offer MA and MFA degree programs in Interdisciplinary Studies in Fine Arts. There are no creative boundaries here!
