Programs


The Faculty of Fine Arts is the Saskatchewan Centre for Excellence in Fine Arts. A full range of professional, educational and liberal arts programs lead to degrees in media production & studies, music, music education, theatre, art history and visual arts. These programs are designed to meet the needs of future artists, arts educators, arts administrators and people who see a fine arts degree as a valuable foundation for other careers.


Media Production & Studies
Students will benefit from the only university department between Toronto and Vancouver to offer degree programs in both film production and film studies: BA and BA Hon in film studies and BFA in production. The thriving film industry in Saskatchewan means a fertile ground for graduates with just the right balance of hands-on experiential learning and liberal arts studies.

Music

Theatre
Students learn unity and understanding among dramaturgy, literature, performance, design and stage management through full participation in productions mounted each semester. Experiential learning is beautifully balanced with liberal arts courses. Degree programs cover the full spectrum of specialties relating to theatrical production.

Visual Arts
Ceramics, drawing, intermedia, painting, printmaking, sculpture or art history… Students in Visual Arts discover their own unique creative expression through studio art practice and a solid grounding in liberal arts studies. Enriched with interactions with local art galleries, art centres, and artists, the degree programs offered prepare the graduate for a rewarding career in many different aspects of the visual arts.
