INTRODUCTORY COURSES
Notes:
1: Faculty of Arts introductory courses in German are offered by the Language Institute. Each of these courses carries 3 hours of degree program credit.
2: Students with grade 12 standing in German will not normally receive credit for GER 100 and 101. However, students whose grade 12 (level III) second language standing dates from five or more years previous to their registration in a University of Regina course in German, and who, in the interim, have not taken any courses in that language, may choose to meet the second language requirement of the BA by taking the full introductory sequence of GER 100, 101,and 102.
3: Students with a good standing in grade 11 German may enrol in GER 101 with permission of the head of the Department of Germanic Studies.
4: Students may choose to meet the second language requirement of the BA by taking an accelerated sequence of GER 100 and 101 in one semester and GER 102 in the following semester in order to be able to complete the language requirement in one academic year.

Students who complete this course may qualify to take an examination leading to the internationally recognized Zertifikat Deutsch als Fremdsprache.
