Eligibility: One book prize is awarded to the student registered in the first year of Engineering having the highest grade 12 average. One book prize is awarded to the student with the highest standing at the end of the first year of the Engineering program. One book prize is awarded to the student with the highest standing at the end of the second year of the Engineering program.

Eligibility: The Award shall be made to a student entering the third year in the Faculty of Engineering, with a demonstrated interest in Software Systems Engineering. The successful applicant must have a minimum 75% average and must be enrolled for a minimum of 15 credit hours. This award will be renewed for a second year provided the student maintains a minimum average of 75% in the third year studies, and continues to register in a minimum of 15 credit hours per semester. If the award is renewed, there will be no new recipient selected in that year.
Conditions: Awarded annually in not renewed, biannually if renewed in the previous year.
Donor: This award was established in 1997 on the basis of gifts received from a tribute dinner held in honour of Dr. Barootes. In September 1995, friends of Dr. Barootes joined together to pay homage to his many accomplishments and contributions to his profession, to his community and to his country.

Eligibility: Awarded to a female student entering her last year of an engineering program based on academic achievement and community leadership. The nominee must be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada.
Conditions: Awarded annually. Payment of the scholarship is subject to written confirmation of enrollment in an accredited engineering program or educational institution. The recipient must be willing to act as a role model visiting local schools and assist the 1989 Canadian Engineering Memorial Foundation in promoting engineering, particularly to young women.

CANADIAN ASSOCIATION OF PETROLEUM PRODUCERS ![]()

Eligibility: The scholarship will be awarded to one student per year entering the third year of study in the Faculty of Engineering, with a major in Petroleum System Engineering. The students must have a minimum 75% average and must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours.

Donor: In October, 1998, the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP) and four Saskatchewan Petroleum awareness week partner associations - Petroleum Awareness Association of Canada, Small Explorers and Producers Association of Canada, Canadian Association of Oilwell Drilling contractors and Canadian Energy Pipeline Association, proposed to provide an initial gift for scholarship support to the University of Regina's Petroleum Engineering program.

Eligibility: Awarded to an outstanding student who is beginning the fifth semester of studies on a full-time basis (minimum 15 credit hours) in the Faculty of Engineering. A minimum weighted percentage average of 75% is required. For those who meet this requirement, the applicant who best demonstrates leadership will be selected.
Conditions: Awarded annually in the Fall
Donor: This scholarship was established on the basis of gifts from family and friends of Michelle Dolman to the University of Regina.

ENGINEERING STUDENTS PROJECT AWARD![]()

Number: One
Eligibility: Offered to a team of Canadian engineering students who have undertaken a project with the most potential to attract students, particularly women, to engineering. The award is open to both men and women to encourage them to work together. The project must be a team effort involving engineering students supported by their Engineering Student Society; be ongoing and have a high potential for implementation across Canada in other schools; assist in leading young women to seriously investigate the possibility of choosing engineering as a career exposing them to the wide range of possible careers in engineering; and influence young women to maintain their studies in mathematics and sciences.
Conditions: Awarded annually. The award of $10,000 will be distributed as follows: 50% ($5,000) of the monies will be awarded to the Engineering Students Society of the selected team's school with the remaining 50% ($5,000) of the monies to be divided equally between the members of the winning student team.

The project proposal must include a detailed report of up to 10 double-spaced typewritten pages describing the project; a letter of approval from the President on behalf of the Executive Committee of the Engineering Student Society approving the project submission and identifying the members of the team; testimonials or other evidence demonstrating the impact the designed project/program has had; and details of the activities of the project. Eligibility: Awarded to a third year student who is expected to commit himself or herself during that year to the McNaughton Centre of the school. All student members of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) who pass into the third year of a program in electrical engineering or equivalent at a university or college which has an active IEEE student branch and an established McNaughton Centre on campus are eligible. Academic achievement in the second year, the time and effort applicants propose to commit to the McNaughton Centre, how much applicants can be expected to benefit from the experience, the amount of past participation in the activities of the McNaughton Centre, and how well they can be expected to co-operate with the IEEE student executive will be taken into consideration.

Students may hold this award in conjunction with any other university scholarship.

Eligibility: The award shall be made to a student entering the fourth year in the Faculty of Engineering, with a major in Environmental Systems. The successful applicant must have a minimum 75% average and must be enrolled for a minimum of 15 credit hours. The student applicant must have a demonstrated interest in highways and transportation, determined by completion of ENEV 372 Transportation and registered in either ENEV 475 Traffic Engineering or ENEV 484 Highway Design. In addition, the student must be active in the Co-operative Education Program.
