MATHEMATICS MINOR
The requirements for a minor in mathematics are MATH 122 and 221, 1 course in calculus (MATH 103, 104/105 or 110), and three courses in mathematics numbered above 221 not including courses that are cross-listed with offerings of other departments.
STATISTICS MINOR
The requirements for a minor in statistics are STAT 151, 1 course in sampling (STAT 257 or 357), 1 course in regression (STAT 254 or 354), and 3 other statistics courses other than STAT 289.
BED/BSC PROGRAM
Information about the 5 year BEd/BSc program with a major in mathematics can be found in the Faculty of Education section of the calendar on under the table heading the Five-Year BEd/BSc Secondary Program resulting in two degrees and the BEd and BSc (Mathematics) on page 2.

Students interested in this program should consult the Head of the Department.
CO-OPERATIVE EDUCATION PROGRAMS IN MATHEMATICS AND STATISTICS
The Department of Mathematics and Statistics operates two 4-year degree programs in Co-operative university education. Following the first three semesters of university courses, students spend alternate 4-month periods taking courses and working in fully-salaried mathematics-related jobs with participating employers. Such a program may improve the student's motivation and performance, and the practical experience gained may aid the student in choosing future areas of interest. These Co-op programs use a full trimester year (three 4-month semesters) and thus allow completion of a 4-year degree, and 16-20 months of practical experience in less than 5 years time, with the advantage of a job during the time the student is not taking courses.
Entrance criteria - Co-op Mathematics program
Students must:
1. have and maintain a GPA of 65%.
2. be enrolled in 12 credit hours to be a full-time Co-op student.
3. complete three full semesters of study including successful completion of MATH 110, 111, 122, 212, 213, two computer courses (preferably one of them CS 170), and one statistics course, before engaging in their first work term.
