BUN ALLIN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Eligibility: Awarded to a grade 12 or a post-secondary student who is a resident of Saskatchewan and attending a post-secondary facility in Saskatchewan. The student must research and prepare an essay on a topic related to the fire sciences. Topics such as arson, chemistry of fire, origin and cause of fires, fire prevention, fire suppression or juvenile fire setters may be used. The essay must consist of at least 2,000 words.
Conditions: The decision of the Committee will be final and essays become the property of the Saskatchewan Chapter of the International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI).
Donor: Established by the IAAI, Saskatchewan Chapter, to encourage and promote awareness of the fire problem in our province, especially fires that are deliberately set.

CITY OF REGINA HENRY BAKER SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
Note: First and second year students are directed to the Henry Baker Scholarships Program listed under University Administered Entrance Awards. Postgraduate students, either at the Doctoral or Master level, are directed to the Henry Baker Scholarships Program listed in the Awards and Scholarships publication available from the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research.

Eligibility: Awarded to students enrolled in full-time studies and in a third or fourth year Bachelor Degree or Bachelor Degree with Honours, who in addition to academic achievement have demonstrated positive contributions to the community of Regina. Applicants must have a minimum 75% average in their program, be registered in a minimum of 9 credit hours, and provide a copy of their transcripts from the University of Regina. Applicants must also write a brief essay outlining their community involvement and future academic and career intentions. Family members of the Mayor, City Councillors, City Manager, Senior Directors and Directors of the City of Regina, and employees and family members of the City of Regina's Public Affairs Department, will NOT be eligible for the City of Regina Henry Baker Scholarship Program.

BURSARY FOR CANADIAN OVERSEAS VOLUNTEERS
Value: Variable - Tuition fees based on the student's enrolment for 2 semesters.
Number: Two per year.
Eligibility: Awarded to a student enrolled at the University of Regina in a graduate or undergraduate program, who has returned within the previous year from any officially-recognized Canadian international volunteer educational service (e.g. CUSO, WUSC, etc.) who has served two years in a country other than Canada or the United States. Financial need is considered.
Conditions: Awarded annually. Winners must be registered in a minimum of 9 credit hours each semester. A student may receive this award only once.

Deadline: Application may be made at any time during the year. The selection will be made by September 30th of each year.
CANADIAN ARMED FORCES SUBSIDIZATION PLANS
Value: University subsidization and leadership training
Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP): University subsidization and career training as an officer in the Regular Component of the Canadian Forces. All tuition and other essential fees are included. A monthly salary is paid to cover living expenses. Free medical and dental care is provided. Annual leave with full pay and allowances may be granted each year, usually before and after the summer training period. On graduation the Officer Cadet is commissioned as an officer with the rank of Second Lieutenant.

Eligibility: Awarded to selected young people who have the potential to become officers in the Canadian Armed Forces.
ROTP: Awarded to Canadian citizens who are enrolled in the rank of Officer Cadet, are physically fit for enrolment in the Canadian Forces, and are at least 16 years of age on the first day of January of the year they commence first-year university studies. The minimum education required of applicants is a Grade 12 Diploma with English A 30, English B 30, Algebra 30, Geo-Trigonometry 30, and Social Studies 30 or Social Studies History 30. Depending on the type of degree sought, further education requirements may include Chemistry 30, Physics 30, and Biology 30. In past years, an 83% average has been helpful for successful candidates. Undergraduates are also eligible to apply for this program provided they have at least one full year remaining before convocation.
Conditions: Training given under these plans is divided into two parts: normal attendance at university throughout the academic year and military training each summer. A period of compulsory military service is a condition of acceptance with any of these plans. Recipients are required to maintain a good standing both academically and militarily while in the plan.

CANADIAN FEDERATION OF UNIVERSITY WOMEN, REGINA CLUB AWARDS

Eligibility: Awarded to full-time female students who have completed at least one year of university studies. Academic achievement, extra-curricular activities, ambitions and plans for the future, and financial need are considered.
Conditions: Awarded annually. Students who have accumulated other monetary awards of equivalent value in the academic year will be ineligible to receive a Regina Club Award. Tenable at the University of Regina. If the University of Regina does not offer degree courses in the student's chosen field, an award may be used to complete studies at a recognized university in Canada. The decisions of the committee are final.

Eligibility: Awarded to anglophone post-secondary students as an opportunity for immersion in a French milieu and to francophones to encourage post-secondary studies in French. Applicants must register as full-time students in a post-secondary program lasting 12 weeks or more in Saskatchewan, or at a bilingual or francophone Canadian institution outside Saskatchewan, and take 60% or more of their program in French (18 credit hours at the University of Regina). Applicants must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents whose permanent residence is in Saskatchewan.

The recipient will have up to 12 months to enter an institution of higher learning. Applicants will be judged based on effort and willingness, completion of homework assignments, extra-curricular activities (not necessarily school-related), a letter of reference, and demonstration of self-advocacy.

MATTINSON ENDOWMENT FUND SCHOLARSHIP FOR DISABLED STUDENTS

Eligibility: Candidates must be disabled according to the following 1975 United Nations Declaration: A disabled person is "any person unable to ensure himself or herself wholly or partly the necessities of a normal individual and/or social life, as a result of a deficiency, either congenital or not, in his or her physical or mental capabilities." Candidates must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents who have lived in Canada for at least two years as permanent residents. Candidates must be entering or currently enrolled in a first undergraduate degree program in any field of study in a Canadian post-secondary institution which is recognized by the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada (AUCC). Holders of an undergraduate degree are not eligible for the scholarship.
Conditions: Awarded annually for a duration of one year. Recipients are eligible to apply in subsequent years provided he/she submits a new application and all pertaining documents. An applicant, in a final academic year term of his/her study, is eligible to apply; he/she will receive a $1,000 scholarship (half an award) provided all other criteria are met.

Conditions: Awarded annually. The total of $750 will be awarded in two payments: $375 in September and $375 in January. A second semester of studies must be pursued for eligibility of the total award.

ROTARY AMBASSADORIAL SCHOLARSHIPS - 2003-2004 SWIFT CURRENT AREA STUDENT ONLY

Eligibility: Awarded to a Swift Current area student, attending an educational institution in the west, for an academic year Ambassadorial Scholarship (nine months) in a foreign country in which Rotary clubs are located. Applicants must have completed at least two years of course work at a post-secondary institution by the time the scholarship begins.
Conditions: Awarded for the 2000-2001 study year. The scholarship may be used in any field of study but cannot be used for unsupervised research, medical internship or residency. Because of its limited time, recipients may not be able to earn degrees, certificates or diplomas during the study period. Scholars are responsible for applying and gaining admission to the assigned institute, obtaining required visas and making travel arrangements. The recipient must provide evidence of ability to read and to write in the language of the host country and must pass a language proficiency examination as determined by Rotary International. During the study period, scholars are expected to represent Canada both formally and informally at Rotary functions and at schools and public forums. Funding is subject to successful academic performance. Upon return to Canada, the student is expected to share the experience with people and groups in the home community.

Applicants must submit a list of five institutions and countries in which they wish to study. Rotary reserves the right to make the assignment. The Rotary Club will interview applicants and will chose scholar in May. The scholar has an additional application form to fill out which does include the writing of two short essays. One is more autobiographical and the other states reasons for interest in this scholarship. Our nomination will be forwarded to the District level and another interview, at the student's expense, will be held in late August or early September.

ROTARY FOUNDATION AMBASSADORIAL SCHOLARSHIPS - DISTRICT #5550
Value: Up to $25,000 (US) for a one year Academic Scholarship,
$24,000 (US) for two years and up to $19,000 (US) for a Multi-Year Academic Scholarship. $19,000 (US) for a Six Month Cultural Scholarship, and $12,000 (US) for a Three Month Cultural Scholarship.
Eligibility: Applicants must have completed at least two years of university when the scholarship begins. All applicants must be Canadian citizens and live or attend university within the Rotary District #5550, which covers the area from Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan to Dryden, Ontario. Rotarians, their lineal descendants and spouses are ineligible.
Conditions: Ambassadorial Scholarships are awarded for study or training in another country where Rotary Clubs are located. The primary purpose of the Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholarship is to further international understanding and friendly relations among people of different countries. Successful students will begin studies a year after their selection. During the study period, scholars are expected to be outstanding ambassadors of goodwill to the people of the host country through both formal and informal appearances before Rotary Clubs, School and Civic organizations. After study has been completed, scholars are expected to share their experiences with people of their home country and with the local Rotarians who sponsored their scholarship

SASKATCHEWAN ASSOCIATION FOR COMMUNITY LIVING

Eligibility: Awarded to a student from the University of Regina or University of Saskatchewan interested in justice issues affecting people with intellectual disabilities.
Conditions: Students are to submit a paper analyzing current realities or propose reform in, but not limited to these areas: case law, criminal law, family law, guardianship, municipal law, wills and estates, and education. Any paper pertaining to the interaction of the justice system or specific laws and people with intellectual disabilities will be considered. The Saskatchewan Association for Community Living promotes the full integration and inclusion of persons with intellectual disabilities into all aspects of community life.

The awards are based on the application of the students to their studies and the desire to work among their people after graduation. Academic standing and financial need are secondary considerations. UNIVERSITY OF REGINA ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS
Value: Tied to non-visa tuition for a full course load for one semester

Eligibility: Scholarships are allocated by faculty on the basis of enrolment, and are awarded each semester to the students with semester averages within the top 1% of the students in that faculty. Students must have been registered in at least 15 credit hours of work.
Conditions: . Students must register in at least 12 hours in the following semester to receive the scholarship, unless they are on a Co-op work term. For students on a Co-op work term, scholarships are deferred until the semester following completion of the work term. Students attending Université Laval as part of the Baccalauréat en éducation program offered by the Faculty of Education will have the award deferred until their return to regular full-time studies the following September. Students will not be considered for an academic scholarship if they are enrolled in Internships, Practica, or Fieldwork placements in that semester.

UNIVERSITY OF REGINA GENERAL PROFICIENCY SCHOLARSHIPS

Eligibility: 1) For students registered in at least 15 credit hours of work each semester, scholarships are allocated by faculty on the basis of enrolment, and awarded to the students with the highest averages. Scholarships will be equal to one half of tuition fees for a full course load for one semester.
2) For students registered in 12-14 credit hours, one General Proficiency per faculty is awarded to the student with the highest average. The scholarship will be equal to one half of tuition for 12 credit hours for one semester.
For both categories, the minimum semester average required to be eligible is 75%.

UNIVERSITY OF REGINA RETIREES LEGACY SCHOLARSHIP

Eligibility: The award will be made to a student enrolled in at least 15 credit hours per semester who has completed a minimum of 75 credit hours of a University of Regina degree program. The award will be based on excellence in scholarship in the chosen field or fields. The nominating faculty member should indicate characteristics which make the student stand out, such as evidence of superior intellectual ability, quick comprehension of difficult new concepts, initiative in class/lab work, excellence in written reports/essays and promise as a potential graduate student. Demonstrated experience in other areas of study will also be considered.
Conditions: The scholarship is tenable only at the University of Regina for a student enrolled in at least 15 credit hours per semester in the final year of any undergraduate degree program. Less than normal full-time enrolment, for any reason, will be cause for forfeiture. Work-study and practicum features of a course will be given full consideration.

Apply: Applications will not be accepted from students. Only University of Regina faculty members may initiate applications on the basis of knowledge of the student. The nominating faculty member will inform the student candidate who may wish to seek supplementary recommendations in the form of confidential reports to the Legacy Scholarship Committee. A faculty member may recommend only one student in any year, as primary or supplementary recommender. The nominating faculty member will advise the student of the conditions of the award.
Deadline: Recommendations are to be forwarded to the Financial Aid Office, Dr. William Riddell Centre, by January 15.
WASCANA PRECEPTORY NO. 51 KNIGHTS TEMPLAR SCHOLARSHIP
Value: Not more than $5500 Annually

Eligibility: The scholarship will be awarded to a University of Regina student who is registered for full time studies (minimum of 12 credit hours), entering the final year of study in a program leading to a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a major in Indian Fine Arts, Theatre or Visual Arts, Bachelor of Music, Bachelor of Music Education or a Bachelor of Science with a major in Biology, Chemistry or Computer Science. The recipient must be a Saskatchewan High School graduate and have maintained a minimum 80% average in all courses during the third University year of study to be eligible. The recipient will not be eligible for any other scholarship during the term of this scholarship. Selection of the student is based on demonstrated good citizenship in family, school and community environment. A statement from the applicant, not to exceed one page, on why he/she thinks he/she should be considered, must be included with the application form. An amount, not to exceed $2500 would be presented at the beginning of the semester to cover tuition fees, course fees and books, and to assist the student with living expenses. To qualify for payment of the second installment, the recipient must pass all courses and maintain a minimum of 80% average during the fall semester of study.

Eligibility: Awarded to an undergraduate student who has completed at least four semesters of study or to a student who is registered in full-time studies in a graduate program at the University of Regina. To be considered, the applicant must have a minimum average of 75% and only those students who have been approved for a study term with the University of Regina International Exchange Agreement Institutions will be considered.
Conditions: Awarded annually in the Fall
Donor: Established in 1998 by the University of Regina Alumni Association to honour Dr. and Mrs. Wells.

SIMON YU BURSARY

Eligibility: Open to all full-time (9 credit hours) undergraduate students who have completed at least one year at the University of Regina. Preference will be given to a visa student enrolled in a full course load (15 credit hours). The bursary will be awarded on the basis of financial need, but the recipient must have a minimum weighted percentage average of 65%.
Conditions: Awarded each Fall and Winter semester
Donor: Established to honour the memory of Simon Yu, who was a student at the University of Regina.
Apply: The General Application for Undergraduate Awards form required for this bursary is available from the Financial Aid Office, Dr. William Riddell Centre. Applicants should indicate on the application form that they are applying for the Simon Yu Bursary.
