Eligibility: Awarded (by order of preference) to a student who will be studying French or in French at a university in France outside Paris or to a student registered in the Certificate in French as a Second Language Program at the Language Institute of the University of Regina, or to a student returning from a year of study in France to take hr/his Honour's year in the French Department at the University of Regina. The scholarship will be awarded to a student registered in 15 credit hours of studies on the basis of academic standing (70%) and financial need (30%).

Eligibility: Awarded to a Saskatchewan high school student of French-Canadian heritage who has graduated during the previous year. Candidates must be registered in at least 12 credit hours of courses at the University of Regina for the September following their high school graduation, and must opt. for one of the courses of study listed below (descriptions of these courses can be found in the French Language Services document and in the University of Regina General Calendar). The selection committee will take into consideration, in this order of importance:
1. academic standing,
2. contributions to school and/or community life; and
3. extra-curricular skills and interest.

Enclose with the application form, a letter of recommendation from your high school teacher of French, the signature of your high school principal, endorsing your application and a parental declaration, as described below. The declaration may be returned under separate cover, but must arrive at the Language Institute by the completion deadline.

In the administration designated for Francophone recipients, the Language Institute requires applicants to establish Francophone status or French-Canadian heritage according to Section 23 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. This article states that anyone with a parent whose language and culture are or were French is considered Francophone for minority language education purposes.

Eligibility: Awarded to an outstanding student entering the fourth year of study in the Department of Media Production and Studies leading to a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree or Bachelor of Arts degree. Preference will be given to a student of French Canadian Heritage who has a command of French or to a student who has a demonstrated command of both of Canada's official languages. The applicant must have a minimum weighted percentage average of 75% and must be enrolled in a minimum of 15 credit hours.
Conditions: Awarded annually in the Spring.
Donor: Established to commemorate Bernard Lavigne as a tribute to his francophone heritage, his love of teaching and his dedication to film and video.

Eligibility: Awarded to a Saskatchewan-born student of French-Canadian heritage. If no suitable Saskatchewan-born candidate is eligible then students of French-Canadian heritage born in one of the other prairie provinces will be considered. Applicants must have completed a minimum of 30 credit hours, of which at least 9 are in French or have been taught in French. Applicants must be registered in full-time studies (15 credit hours) during the Fall and Winter semesters of the year in which the award is made.
Conditions: Awarded annually.

CANADIAN PARENTS FOR FRENCH (SASKATCHEWAN) BURSARY![]()

Eligibility: Awarded to students who have completed French 30 or a Type B French Immersion program in a Saskatchewan high school, and who are registered in 15 credit hours of courses per semester in the first year of the Baccalauréat en éducation française or in the Language Institute's Certificate in French as a Second Language program.
Conditions: Awarded annually in the Winter semester on the basis of grades achieved during the first semester of study (50%), personal commitment to study and extra curricular activities in French (25%), and financial need (25%).
Donor: Canadian Parents for French (Saskatchewan).

JENNIFER M. FUDGE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP![]()

Eligibility: Awarded to any student from the University of Regina participating in an official exchange program or studying on her/his own at a university in France. Priority will be given to applicants in the following order:
1. A student registered in the Faculty of Arts (French major)
2. A student registered in the Faculty of Education (French)
3. A student registered in any other Faculty or program.
For (in order of preference):
1. one year
2. one semester
3. one summer
The student must register in at least 12 credit hours of course work while on the exchange. Normally, the recipient will be in the third year of the programme. Academic standing, leadership qualities and contribution to university and/or community life will be considered.
Conditions: Awarded annually. The successful candidate must provide proof of registration at a University in France in order to receive the funds.

Apply: Application forms are available from the French Department or the Language Institute by February 1. Completed applications must be returned to the French Department or the Language Institute.

ANDRÉ AND SANDRA LALONDE SCHOLARSHIP![]()

Eligibility: Adhering to a three year cycle the scholarship is awarded to an outstanding student of the University of Regina who has a minimum weighted percentage average of 75%, is enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours, and with the following criteria:
FIRST YEAR - a history major who has completed at least three history courses, and a minimum of one French Language course beyond the 100 level.
SECOND YEAR - a French major who has completed at least three French courses, and a minimum of one history course beyond the 100 level.
THIRD YEAR - a student participating in an exchange program, Fall or Winter Semester, and is attending a Latin American University with whom the University of Regina has signed an agreement.
Conditions: Awarded annually.
Note: If there is no eligible candidate for the preferred order of awarding the scholarship, it will be moved forward to the next criteria.

Eligibility: Awarded to a student in the last year of studies towards the BA or Bed (mention bilingue) or the Baccalauréat en éducation française (first degree). The student must be registered in 15 credit hours of courses per semester during each of the Fall and Winter semesters of the year in which the scholarship is to be held. The scholarship will be awarded to the eligible candidate who has the highest weighted percentage average.
Conditions: Awarded annually.
Donor: The Province of Saskatchewan in honour of the visit of his Excellency Governor-General Jules Léger and to encourage bilingual studies. Funded by the University of Regina.

Eligibility: Awarded to a third year student in the Baccalauréat en éducation française who is pursing a first degree. The student must be a grade 12 graduate of the Saskatchewan immersion Program or the Saskatchewan Core French Program. The recipient must be registered in at least 12 credit hours at the University of Regina and will be selected on the basis of academic standing, financial need and demonstrated leadership in extra curricular activities in French.
