9.31 DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE STUDIES

9.31.4 ADVANCED CERTIFICATE IN CRIMINAL AND RESTORATIVE JUSTICE (CORRECTIONS AND PUBLIC SAFETY)

The Advanced Certificate in Criminal and Restorative Justice (Corrections and Public Safety) provides the equivalent of the concentration in Criminal and Restorative Justice (Corrections and Public Safety) to holders of a Bachelor of Human Justice.  Students holding a BHJ awarded in Fall 1998 or later complete any remaining requirements of the BHJ with the concentration Criminal and Restorative Justice (Corrections and Public Safety) as outlined below.  Holders of a BHJ awarded prior to Fall 1998 by the Faculty of Social Work must also fulfill any outstanding Arts course requirements in addition to the courses required for the Certificate; specific courses to be completed will be determined by the Arts Student Services Office, in consultation with the Department of Justice Studies.

Students completing the requirements for the certificate as part of their BHJ program must apply for graduation within one year of the degree being awarded.

15.0 HJ 445/446/447 JS 490/491/492 Must be in the corrections field. Those who have completed their advanced practicum in a different field may be allowed to substitute additional course work. Please consult the Department of Justice Studies.
