New Graduate Teaching Assistant Rates
The University of Regina and the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 2419 Student Academic Assistants successfully negotiated a four year collective agreement, covering the period January 1, 2005 to December 31, 2008. CUPE 2419 members have ratified the agreement and the Board of Governors approved the agreement at the June 2008 Board meeting.
As a result of this new agreement, the salary for the FGSR Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) position has changed significantly over the previous contract.
Values are now as follows:
Masters $2,186.15 per semester (based on 120 hours); $546.54 per month
Ph.D. $2,292.76 per semester (based on 120 hours); $573.19 per month
