More than 120 employers seek U of R grads at Careers Day
Employers from across the country are constantly seeking U of R
students and graduates – something that will be especially apparent this
coming Monday. In efforts to recruit high-quality students and alumni, more
than 120 top employers from Saskatchewan and across the country will attend
Careers Day, 2007 on Monday, September 24, 2007 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00
p.m. in the U of R Centre for Kinesiology, Health & Sport.
Last year saw approximately 5,000 students and alumni come out with approximately 100 employers on site. This year promises to be bigger and better, says Associate Vice-President (Student Affairs) Ron Byrne.
“University of Regina students and alumni are in high demand,” he says. “Careers Day is a great opportunity for students and alumni to network with potential employers, inquire about possible career choices, showcase their resumes and explore job opportunities.”
One employer in particular will have a strong presence on Careers Day – the event’s primary sponsor, SaskTel.
The SaskTel Street Team will be on hand with prizes and entertainment throughout the day. Students will have a chance to win one of 80 GB iPods, or a grand prize of a BlackBerry 8703e courtesy of U of R Alumni.
Additional Careers Day sponsors include Meyers Norris Penny, Conexus, Nexen, Canadian Forces, Moxie’s Classic Grill, Government of Saskatchewan, University of Regina and University of Regina Alumni Association.
