The University of Regina will open its doors to new and future students during a full-day event on May 13. This event will provide new students with the opportunity to experience their university.

"This event is a great opportunity for students who are thinking of a future at the University of Regina," says Naomi Deren, manager of student recruitment at the University of Regina. "Newly admitted and potential students can tour the campus, learn about our many degree and program offerings, explore our federated colleges and attend some fun and informative events and workshops."

Students can talk to staff from the University's Career Centre and learn about the University's UR Guarantee Program, which ensures that participating students will find employment in career-related opportunities within six months of completing their degree or the University will waive the tuition and course fees for an additional 30 credit hours of undergraduate courses in the following year.

Students also have the opportunity to learn about cooperative education and internship programs that incorporate productive work experience as a regular and integral part of a student's learning process and participate in an interactive session to assist them in choosing an educational and career direction that "fits."

Students can learn the fundamentals of budgeting and gather information on scholarships and loans in a session hosted by the University of Regina and Ministry of Advanced Education.
