On September 13, University of Regina President and Vice-Chancellor Dr. Vianne Timmons and Dr. Marcial Rubio, president of Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú signed the first Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the University of Regina and a university in Peru.
The University of Regina and the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú will work to provide joint educational and research activities, student study and research exchanges, faculty research exchanges, and opportunities to share academic materials and publications.
"Agreements such as this are an important means of helping the University of Regina further develop as a university with a global reach. By allowing students and faculty members from Peru to visit, study and work on our campus - and by allowing those from Saskatchewan to do the same in Peru - this MOU will provide a valuable educational and cultural experience for people from both countries," says Timmons, who notes that the MOU comes into effect immediately.
"I want to thank the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú for their commitment to this wonderful new partnership, and I look forward to seeing it develop in the coming years."
The University of Regina has over 150 agreements with organizations and institutions across the globe, providing the opportunity for increased international student and faculty study and research.
