Biography of Dean Biesenthal, Associate Vice-President (Human Resources)

Professionally, Dean Biesenthal was appointed as the Associate Vice President of Human Resources on September 7, 2021. Working closely with Executive and Senior Leadership, Dean is responsible for the leadership and direction of the Human Resources Department, programs, operations and success. Prior to this appointment, Dean served directly in the Human Resources field for over twenty years with a strong background in public service in the Public Education and Health Sectors.

Educationally, Dean is a graduate from the Business Administration program at the University of Regina. Dean has successfully completed the Canadian Management Professional designation, the Registered Professional Recruiter designation and the Certified Human Resources Professional designation. In 2013, Dean completed his Masters in Educational Administration (M. Ed) from the University of Saskatchewan.

Personally, Dean was born and raised in Regina, and although he has lived away for the past number of years, Regina still feels like home. Otherwise Dean is still learning, creating, reflecting and refining his practice each day. But his belief is that ‘if you want people to make a personal investment in the big picture, it must start with meaningful conversations.’ Honest discussions about a shared vision everyone can understand, refine and find their personal connection to. This is when people discover new-found courage and feel motivated to act.
