Questionnaire for U of R Staff Members

Welcome to the Strategic Research & Scholarship Plan Questionnaire for the Staff Members of the University of Regina.

As part of our consultations, all members of the University community are invited to reflect on the questions below and provide comments to the Strategic Research & Scholarship Plan committee. The questionnaire will gather information to complement the information received in face-to-face consultation meetings. Your replies will remain anonymous and confidential.

  1. What is the purpose of research/scholarship*?
  2. What is your perception of the current research/scholarship activity at the U of R?
  3. Can you comment on the strengths and weaknesses of research/scholarship at the U of R?
  4. What role do staff currently play in the University's research activity?
  5. What role would you like to play?
  6. To whom should the U of R be accountable in terms of its research/scholarship productivity?
  7. How should this accountability be evaluated?
  8. In a Globe and Mail (or Maclean's) headline 5 years from now, how would you like them to describe the U of R's research/scholarship output?
*For the purposes of inclusion, we use the term scholarship to portray activity that does not necessarily involve the collection of new data (i.e., research), but may involve performance and interpretation as a means to extends the body of knowledge as we currently understand it.
