Saskatchewan

Dr. Mary Hampton

Mary Hampton, Ed.D., the Provincial Academic Research Coordinator for RESOLVE Saskatchewan, is professor of psychology at Luther College at the University of Regina, and a research associate in the Saskatchewan Population Health and Evaluation Research Unit (SPHERU). She is a registered clinical psychologist in Saskatchewan and regularly teaches courses in humanistic psychology, psychology of women, developmental psychology, and abnormal and introductory psychology.

Dr. Hampton's research interests include: intimate partner violence, cross-cultural psychology, women's health, adolescent sexual health, and end of life care. She has several funded research projects from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, the Saskatchewan Health Research Foundation, and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council.

Elder Betty McKenna

Elder Betty McKenna is RESOLVE Saskatchewan's Guiding Elder.  Elder Betty is from the Aninishnabae Nation, Shoal River Band. She is very knowledgeable on many traditional teachings, which she has learned from her grandmother and also from teachings from various other Elders.

Elder Betty was appointed by former Premier Roy Romanow to the College of Physicians and Surgeons Council of Saskatchewan.  She serves on the National Elders Advisory, Correctional Services Canada as well as numerous other committees.


Ann Bishop

Ann Bishop is the Project Coordinator for RESOLVE Saskatchewan.  Ann retired in 2008 as Research Coordinator for the Saskatchewan Population Health and Evaluation Research Unit (SPHERU) at the University of Regina and has many years' experience in research settings.  Ann holds a BA in English and a Certificate in Administration.

Currently Ann is semi-retired and is active with the Lifelong Learning Centre at the University of Regina where she takes classes and volunteers for the annual book sale supporting the Centre.  She spoils her two grand-children with abandon!

 

Danaka Safinuk

Danaka Safinuk is the Research Coordinator for RESOLVE Saskatchewan and a clinical psychology Master's student at the University of Regina. Danaka's research interests include intimate partner violence, body image, female sexuality, and sexual health.  Danaka recently was awarded a CIHR graduate award and a SSHRC graduate award (which she had to turn down).

Dr. Leslie Tutty, academic research coordinator for RESOLVE Alberta, resigned recently and a search for a new director is currently underway. 


MANITOBA

Dr. Jane Ursel

Dr. Jane Ursel is the director of a longitudinal study of the Winnipeg Family Violence Court, having collected seven years of data from the Court. She is involved in social policy analysis and development. She recently has been appointed chairperson of the Lavoie Inquiry Implementation Committee. The inquiry was the result of a domestic homicide/suicide in 1995. The Inquiry report contains ninety-one recommendations for improvements in the social services and criminal justice systems. Dr. Jocelyn Proulx

Dr. Jocelyn Proulx

Dr. Jocelyn Proulx has a Ph.D. in psychology and her areas of research include: family violence offenders, Aboriginal issues and family violence, child sexual and physical abuse, and dating violence. Dr. Proulx has worked as a research associate with RESOLVE since 1994. She has been involved in several program evaluations including the Healthy Relationships program on dating violence prevention and the Ma Mawi Wi Chi Itata Family Violence Program Stony Mountain Project. She has constructed manuals for workshop and program delivery and has provided consultative and research services to community agencies. In addition to working at RESOLVE, Dr. Proulx teaches various courses in psychology.
