Canadian Math Kangaroo Contest

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics is happy to host the 2014 Canadian Math Kangaroo Contest.

Registration includes $16 registration fee per student to cover the costs of organizing the event.
Contest content is covered in the Province Math Curriculum. Problems require creativity, logical thinking or a different perspective. Herein lies the challenge.
The test can be written in English or in French.
Students compete in six grade categories:
- Grade 1 and Grade 2;
- Grade 3 and Grade 4;
- Grade 5 and Grade 6;
- Grade 7 and Grade 8;
- Grade 9 and Grade 10;
- Grade 11 and Grade 12;
The test for grades 1-2 consists of 18 multiple-choice questions, arranged in increasing difficulty, to be answered in 45 minutes. The test for grades 3-4 consists of 24 multiple-choice questions, arranged in increasing difficulty, to be answered in 60 minutes. The test for grades 5-12 consists of 30 multiple-choice questions, arranged in increasing difficulty, to be answered in 75 minutes.
Calculators are not permitted.
The problems are divided in three categories, A, B, and C, by the level of challenge. Each category consists of 6, 8, or 10 problems.
