Welcome to the Research pages of the Faculty of Science. Here you will a variety of materials concerning the research activities conducted in Science, including information about faculty and student research, our Canada Research Chairs, short videos of researchers and students, and resources and opportunities for faculty members and students.
Research is the single most important activity that enables universities to be leaders in knowledge creation, preservation, and dissemination. Without the engagement of professors in fundamental research, our community and our future students would be limited to being users (or, consumers) of knowledge, which in the long term is simply an unsustainable position economically, culturally, and scientifically.
University of Regina scientists enjoy a reputation, both nationally and internationally, for high quality scientific research, much of which is supported by the national research councils NSERC and CIHR. Professors in the Faculty of Science are committed to preparing the next generation of scientists by providing opportunuties for undergraduate and graduate students to work alongside professors on research projects.
We invite you to explore these pages and learn a little about the scientific research undertaken at the University of Regina.
