| Getting Started with the Madison Digital Image Database Viewer | ||
| The MDID Image Viewer allows you to access your slideshow created on the MDID server on any computer with an internet access. The viewer is similar to a PowerPoint presentation and will give full screen images. | ||
| 1. Download the Image Viewer (PC or Mac) | ||
| 2. Unzip the file. Double-click (or click) the imageviewer.exe
file to start the viewer: |

| 3. Before using the viewer, the PREFERENCES must be changed from the
default server to the Visual Resource Centre server. Click on "Preferences": |

| 4. The MDID URL box will show the following: |

| Delete the "http://did.cit.jmu.edu/" text in the MDID URL box, and type in: | ||
| http://visarts.fa.uregina.ca | ||
| then click "(test)" |
||

| 5. If the test is successful, then SAVE CHANGES. | ||
| NOTE: This only has to be done once. When you save the changes, the default server will be the MDID2 in the VRC. | ||
| 6. Return to the Login Screen, enter your username/password, Click Log
into MDID, and you will have access to all your slideshows! |
