Aria Ramdeo

Aria is a multi-hyphenate creative, and a passionate advocate for gender equality. She has a career that spans several fields including education, public relations, and nonprofit. Her commitment to social justice and community engagement work led her to the Executive Director role at the Heritage Community Association where she is fortunate to work with the inclusive, vibrant inner-city community. As a public relations professional with over seventeen (17) years experience she has developed an intersectional approach to communications that prioritizes diversity, equity and inclusion. Aria is a dedicated lifelong learner with a Diploma in Public Relations, Advertising and Marketing from London, a Certificate in Public Relations from the University of Regina, and she is currently pursuing a BA in Cultural Anthropology with a minor in Gender Studies. She is also a trained elementary and Montessori teacher. Aria actively supports several nonprofit organizations committed to achieving gender equality, sustainable development and human rights including The Association for Women’s Rights in Development (AWID), and Dressember which seeks to restore dignity to victims and survivors of human trafficking. Aria is a mixed heritage woman of colour, a DEI disruptor, and an invisible disability warrior. She and her partner Ravi have two artistic, hilarious children, and a feisty Bichon Frise pup who keep them on their toes.
