The Master of Adult Education and Community Engagement degree is intended to prepare individuals for specialized roles in adult education and with community organizations.
Some specialized areas of theory and practice within the field of adult education include: lifelong learning; adult basic education; community based learning and engagement; adult and family literacy; professional and continuing education; informal and non-formal education; post-secondary education; intergenerational learning; social advocacy and action; community development; community-based research and labour education.
This year, the Adult Education, Community Engagement and Human Resource Development Unit is hosting a Community Engagement Institute. On July 15th and 16th they will be working with community-based organization representatives using participatory community development methodologies.
