Honours Requirements: Minimum 70% GPA, 75% in major; completion or registered in 30 credit hours; minimum 9 credit hours completed in proposed major.

    ENGL 221: Poetry

    ENGL 223: Drama 

□ 6. One of:

    ENGL 301: Shakespeare: Comedies and Romances

    ENGL 302: Shakespeare: Histories and Tragedies 

□ □ 7-8. Two of:

    ENGL 349: Methods for the Study of Literary History

    ENGL 390: History of Criticism

    ENGL 399: Methods for the Study of Literary Theory 

□ 9. One 300-level ENGL course designated as Period I (1000-1660) 

□ 10. One 300-level ENGL course designated as Period II (1660-1790) 

□ 11. One 300-level ENGL course designated as Period III (1791-1900)

A Concentration in Creative Writing option can be selected by completing four courses within the honours requirements from the list below. Substantial work must be done in at least two different genres:

    ENGL 352AA-ZZ: Creative Writing II

    ENGL 353: Creative Writing III

    ENGL 354: Creative Non-Fiction

    Any 400-level ENGL course designated as Creative Writing

 

Arts Core Requirements (11 minus 2 courses* already required by honours = 27 credit hours)
