Justice Studies & Pre-Police Studies

The Bachelor of Arts in Justice Studies (BAJS) is a four-year, 120-credit hour degree.  This program is offered to students who have declared the BAJS as their major prior to May 1, 2012.

Students enrolled in the Pre-Police Studies' program who do not gain employment with a police service and wish to complete their degree can choose to complete the Bachelor of Arts in Police Studies by following the academic track of the newly refined Bachelor of Arts in Police Studies degree program; or, if enrolled in the BAPS prior to May 1, 2012 they can transfer into the BAJS program to complete the BAJS degree instead.  It is recommended that students in the BAPS degree program arrange for an advising appointment to ensure they are following the academic program that best suits their current needs and career opportunities.

The BAJS will no longer be offered after April 30, 2017.  No new enrollments will be accepted after May 1, 2012.  In its place and effective May 1, 2012, the Bachelor of Arts in Police Studies has a professional track ending in employment with a police service or an academic track for students interested in and wanting a career in policing as a civilian or for further academic pursuits.
