PERSPECTIVES | submission guidelines

The objective of PERSPECTIVES is to reach out to the general public and provide a sampling of the research and scholarship being undertaken by Faculty of Arts members. With this in mind submissions should consist of short essays on topics of interest to the general public. Submissions should be:

  • a maximum of 1000 words
  • written in a clear manner accessible to a non-specialist audience
  • thought-provoking, and intended to stimulate further discussion or debate

Please include full contact details with your submission, along with a brief (approximately 2-3 sentences) biographical note.

Please note that all essays published online in PERSPECTIVES will include a Disqus commenting feature. Commenting is open to all, though comments will be moderated in accordance with our terms of use prior to publication.

Authors retain copyright of their PERSPECTIVES contributions but grant the Faculty of Arts permission to publish it online and promote it accordingly. Any requests for reproducing the submission elsewhere will be directed to the author.

Likewise, if submitting a piece that that has previously been published elsewhere, authors will be required to verify that they are the copyright holders of the material, and that they retain the right to publish it in PERSPECTIVES.
