Research interests
Jim's primary research interests are Canadian party politics, political institutions, and religion and politics. He is the author of Social Conservatism and Party Politics in Canada and the United States (UTP) and editor (with David Rayside) of Conservatism in Canada (UTP), as well as a number of book chapters and journal articles on those topics. He is currently working on a book examining the different ways that Canadian provinces fund and regulate religious schools, an edited volume on Canadian federalism with Julie Simmons at Guelph, and projects on Canadian party politics with Royce Koop at Manitoba. He's always happy to talk to media folks and community groups about provincial and national politics.
