Clinical Psychology program boasts 100% percent success rate in graduate student residency placement

Dr. Lynn Loutzenhiser, Director of Clinical Training in the Department of Psychology, reports that all eight of the doctoral clinical graduate students who applied for clinical residency placements this year were successfully matched.

The rigorous application and matching process is done through the Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centres (APPIC) and entails competition against other senior clinical PhD students from across Canada and the USA - not all programs succeed in having 100% of their applicants matched. The UofR’s Clinical Psychology program continues its 100% match-rate streak with its largest number of student applicants ever, a new record for the Department.

Matched into residency programs this year were:

  • Emily Boughner  Northern Ontario Psychology Internship Consortium Thunder Bay, ON
  • Nichole Faller  Northern Ontario Psychology Internship Consortium Thunder Bay
  • ON Julia  Grummisch Vancouver Coastal Health Vancouver, BC
  • Stephanie Korol  Royal Ottawa Health Care Group Ottawa, ON
  • Julia Mason  University of Manitoba-Clinical Health Winnipeg, MB
  • Kat Mazenc  London Clinical Psychology Consortium London, ON
  • Joelle Soucy  Kingston Internship Consortium, Kingston ON
  • Tori Suchan  Regina Clinical Psych Regina SK

This impressive accomplishment speaks to the high quality of the University of Regina’s Canadian Psychological Association-accredited clinical psychology program.
