Surviving the Semester

University life can sometimes be stressful, especially for new students. It can be a big challenge to balance the many competing demands on your time. It is important to be proactive if you find yourself having trouble keeping up with your work and find your grades starting to slip. Poor academic performance can ultimately lead to students being required to discontinue their studies at the University. Don't make the mistake of thinking it can't happen to you. Did you know that on average, at any one time, some 10% of students in the Faculty of Arts are on academic probation or have been asked to discontinue their studies? That is why it is very important to reach out for help if you need it.

In the left-hand menu we've collected a few strategies and services that can ease your way through the semester and help you avoid some of the difficulties. And don't forget that the Arts Student Services Office is always here to help.
