Programs

Central to the mission of Women's and Gender Studies is a liberal arts education that includes the knowledge and perspectives of underrepresented peoples, with a specific focus on women and gender/sex.  Our research and teaching engage a number of disciplinary orientations making Women's and Gender Studies a significant site for interdisciplinary work in the university.  Bringing together research, teaching, and activism, Women's and Gender Studies seeks to foster a critical and thoughtful engagement with the multitude of ways that humans understand, organize, and represent the world and themselves within it.
