Insight Speaker Series

The Faculty of Business Administration hosts a monthly speaker series during the fall and winter semesters - Insight: UR Business Distinguished Speaker Series.  The speaker series is sponsored by the Office of the Vice-President, Research and features high profile members of the business community who are from Saskatchewan and who have made a national or global impact in business.

Harold MacKay
"Shaping Canada's Financial System - from Saskatchewan of all Places"

Harold Mackay is counsel to the law firm if MacPherson Leslie & Tyerman. Harold has extensive corporate governance experience. In the public sector he was the lead director of the Bank of Canada and the chair of the board of the Federal Business Development Bank. In addition he has served as a director of eight listed Canadian and US public companies. He is presently a director of The Toronto-Dominion Bank and the non-executive board Chair of Domtar Corporation.

Harold is also a commercial arbitrator and has been an active participant in Canadian public policy issues. He acted as a Special Representative of the Saskatchewan Government in a review of post-secondary university education in the Province. He also chaired the Task Force on the Future of the Canadian Financial Services Sector, served as the Clifford Clark Visiting Economist in the Department of Finance of Canada, and was the vice-chair of the Wise Person's Committee which reported to the Minister of Finance on Canada's securities regulatory structure.

Kyle Jeworski is the President and CEO of Viterra North America. As Viterra’s leader, Jeworski is responsible for the company’s grain elevator network, key port facilities and employees across North America. He has been with the company for nearly two decades, playing pivotal roles in projects that have driven historic transformation in Canada’s agricultural sector.

Holding a BAdmin from the University of Regina, Jeworski has built his extensive business background by growing Viterra’s domestic and international presence through Eastern Canadian expansion efforts, business acquisitions in the US and Australia and successful integration efforts in overseas markets, including China, Japan, Germany and Singapore.

Ken Sunquist is the 2013 Alumni Crowning Achievement Award recipient for Lifetime Achievement. He is an international strategic business advisor, management consultant and corporate director. Sunquist worked in Public Service and for the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade as Assistant Deputy Minister (Asia and Africa) and Chief Trade Commissioner for Canada from 1973 to 2011. His interests have focused on international business, government relations, leadership issues and working extensively on values and ethics for individuals and organizations.
