This program is targeted to those preparing for administrative careers or already working in administrative positions. The focus of the program is to improve analytical skills, develop an understanding of organizational behaviour, and explore the forces that shape management decisions and practices. Students will be guided through a program of management development by studying various areas of business administration. In so doing they will broaden their perspectives, increase confidence in their abilities, and develop new approaches to old problems.

Credit hours in Administration Level I can stand alone or can serve as the first step of a four-step journey toward completion of an undergraduate degree in the Faculty of Business Administration. Students who might continue studies through to the Certificate in Administration Level II, the Diploma of Business Administration or the Bachelor of Business Administration degree program should seek academic advising early in their studies.

This five-course certificate is best suited to the part-time learner. The certificate allows students to attend classes in the evenings and still complete the credential within eight months to one year, depending on availability in courses.

Note: Students enrolled in a part-time program do not maintain full-time student status throughout the program. Therefore part-time programs may be unavailable to international applicants due to Citizenship and Immigration Canada regulations. Part time programs are also not eligible for student loan funding.

For students looking for a full-time program of study, the Certificate in Administration 2 is an excellent introduction to business concepts and can provide pathways for further study.

Scheduled Breaks: For information about scheduled breaks for international students visit Work While You Study.
