French Horn

In Her Studio:

Wendy teaches French Horn with the Conservatory. Lessons with Wendy cost $60 per hour. She is accepting students at this time. Wendy will teach students at any age, though usually students are in grade 6 or higher. Students can be at any level and Wendy will work with students to determine their goals regarding exams, recitals and festivals which are typically encouraged. Wendy specializes in classical music. Students are required to supply their own French horn, but Wendy is available to chat with parents if they need help finding an instrument. Wendy's students are required to practice on a regular basis to help develop endurance and consistency.

 

Biography:

Wendy is originally from Saskatoon and grew up playing in the Saskatoon Youth Orchestra. She earned a Bachelor of Music Degree and a Bachelor of Education Degree from Brandon University, and a Master of Music Degree in Orchestral Performance from the University of Western Ontario (London). Wendy currently teaches elementary school band for Regina Public schools and frequently performs with the Regina Symphony Orchestra. Some of the highlights of Wendy's career include performing at Carnegie Hall in 2009 and 2010 with the American National Collegiate Wind Ensemble and with the PRISMA summer festival orchestra in Powell River, BC with Arthur Arnold. Since moving to Regina in 2021 Wendy has assisted the orchestras at Briercrest, U of R and the South Saskatchewan Youth Orchestra and has appeared in performance with Sterling Productions, Poltava Ukrainian School of Song, Music and Dance and the Regina Symphony Orchestra.
