Though Monique was born and raised in Southern Saskatchewan, she  studied and taught in Ontario for many years.                       

She studied with teachers from the Royal Conservatory in Toronto  where she  obtained her Teachers’ ARCT with Kathryn Sinclair, and a Solo performer ARCT and Licentiate in Piano Performance (91%) with Earle Moss, teacher, concert pianist, composer, pedagogue and  lecturer.  Monique studied with Mr. Moss for 6 years and attended his summer school for teachers in Ontario and Quebec for several years where he gave regular recitals and master classes. All aspects of teaching including interpretation and style for the various periods of piano music and repertoire, technique, ornamentation and baroque music, sight-reading and eartest – including tonic solfa and Orff methods were covered.

During these summers she attended master classes with Leon Fleisher, Anton Kuerti, and Adele Marcus from New York. We attended concerts at Mount Orford, National Arts Centre in Ottawa and many others.

Monique also attended music workshops in Toronto, and Vermont,and spent a full summer at Manhattenville College in White Plains,NY, where she studied organ, choral music and composition.

While in Kingston, Monique studied at Queen’s University and taught piano in the music department for three years.  She also studied ARCT voice, organ, and choral conducting.

Monique presently teaches piano and theory from beginners up to and including all ARCT requirements and has been teaching at the Conservatory of Performing Arts for 20 years.
