Cumberland College Community-Based Bachelor of Education Program in Elementary Education

The Community-Based Bachelor of Education Program (Cumberland College, Melfort Campus) is designed to provide a unique cohort model of teacher education which supports potential students in becoming teachers within their own communities.

5-semester (60 credit hours) BEd After Degree (BEAD) Program in Elementary Education

Program Requirements

The BEd After Degree (BEAD) Program in Elementary Education is designed for students having an approved first degree with a minimum UGPA of 65%. Students must have a minimum 39 credit hours which are supportive of provincial curricula. It is recommended that students have three provincial curricula areas (9 credit hours of senior courses). Where deficiencies are evident, students may be required to take additional courses to complete degree requirements.

  • Minimum average of 65%
  • Teaching related experiences and essay content are also factors in selection
