The Professional Development & Field Experiences Office is seeking applications through the Human Resources website for several part-time sessional supervisor positions in the 2019-2020 academic year (September-December 2019 and/or January-April 2020). Successful candidates will be assigned to supervise pre-interns and/or intern student teachers placed in K-12 schools throughout Saskatchewan and assist as leaders at the Internship Seminars for interns and their cooperating teachers. They will act as liaison persons for the Faculty and offer resource, guidance and support for the interns and cooperating teachers.

Qualifications and Expectations

  • a minimum of five years of K-12 recent teaching experience and a valid Saskatchewan Teaching Certificate
  • a MEd Degree; a BEd Degree plus experience with University of Regina student supervision; or equivalent
  • proven ability and skill in working with teachers, pre-interns, interns and adult groups
  • proven ability to problem solve and collaborate
  • daily access to e-mail
  • available to visit schools during the scheduled field experiences
  • available to visit schools on short notice
A working knowledge of the University of Regina, Faculty of Education program is considered an asset.

Salary

Commensurate with the number of student teachers supervised as per the contracted agreement negotiated by the University of Regina Faculty Association Bargaining Unit. All appointments are subject to budgetary approval.
