Academic Advising and Registration

Academic Advising

Academic advising is available to all Faculty of Education undergraduate students in the Student Services Centre.

Registration for Spring/Summer and Fall 2019 begins March 5, 2019. Log in to UR Self-Service to view your time ticket and check for any financial holds.

Academic Advisors will be available for walk-ins (no appointment necessary, first come, first serve basis) every Wednesday (9:00 am - noon and 1:00 - 4:00 pm). If this day does not work for you, an individual appointment time can be booked through our new online booking system.  www.uregina.ca/education  Click on "Book UR Advising".

Transfer Credit and Letters Of Permission

Students accepted into the Faculty of Education program will be permitted to transfer only those courses with grades 60.0% or higher that meet program requirements. Transfer credit will only be evaluated once the student is selected into a Teacher Education Program.

We generally accept all coursework presented from an accredited university in another province or country, as long as the credit can be applied to the students program.

If you would like to take a course outside of the University of Regina for credit in your program you must first meet with an academic advisor to ensure the course is applicable to your degree, and to request a Letter of Permission. A Letter of Permission (LOP) will outline the course(s) you intend to take, the institution that you will be taking the course(s) from, the equivalent course at the University of Regina, and important deadlines for receipt of your transcripts. An LOP hold will be placed on your student account. This hold will not prevent your registration, but will remain on your account until the Registrar’s Office receives an official transcript and processes transfer credit.
