50th Birthday Party

The Department of Computer Science is celebrating its 50th birthday in 2018. The creation of the Department of Computer Science gained Senate approval on November 1, 1968. A party will be held in the Education Auditorium on the Main Campus of the University of Regina on Thursday, December 6, beginning at 7pm.

Entrepreneur and programmer David Wm Plummer (BSc High Honours 1994) was born and raised in Regina and now lives in the Seattle area. He will speak about his decade at Microsoft, where he served as a developer and development manager on every major operating system of the last two decades from MS-DOS through Server 2003, and his love of computers that started on Saturday mornings in the University of Regina's computer labs.

Following his presentation, local alumni will join David on stage for a period of questions, answers, and stories moderated by Dr. Brien Maguire, Professor Emeritus and former Department Head.

Join us for a great program... and cake!
