A Composer's Journey Talk

In A Composer's Journey: José Elizondo and an Untraditional Life as a Composer, hear about the life of a composer as told by a composer. José will talk about his life in both music and engineering and how he balances the two while keeping music composing alive in his life. Learn about his journey and how you don't need to have the "perfect profile" or follow a single path to make an impact with your music!

This talk is 45 minutes with 15 minutes for questions and answers at the end. This is perfect for students studying in music programs, musicians interested in pursuing composition, music educators looking to expand repertoire in their classrooms, and members of the community interested in learning more about the life of composers!

José Elizondo is a Boston based composer and engineer. He received degrees in Music and Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). At Harvard University, he studied musical analysis, orchestration, and conducting. Elizondo's technology work focuses on language-related technology that combines his interests in linguistics, computer science and artificial intelligence. As a part time composer, he works with performers around the world to create compositions for orchestra and chamber ensembles.
