Innovation in Evidence: A National Event Focused on Improving Evidence-Informed Policymaking

The Community Safety Knowledge Alliance and The Mowat Centre's Not-for-Profit Research Hub (part of the University of Toronto's Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy) are hosting a two day event that will bring international leaders and innovators in evidence-informed policymaking together to share emerging trends, discuss lessons learned, and provide fresh insight into the challenges facing policymakers, practitioners, researchers and academics in their quest to determine 'what works'. Key conference partners include the Government of Saskatchewan, the Sheldon Kennedy Child Advocacy Centre, the University of Regina, the McConnell Foundation and ISM Canada.

Topics covered will include:
● best practices in generating, translating, and adopting evidence;
● exploring what meaningful engagement with policymakers and practitioners looks like in practice;
● the role of data and data sharing in evidence-informed decision-making;
● opportunities to support nonprofits in their path to outcomes;
● embedding evidence institutions in outcomes funding arrangements such as social impact bonds; and
● profiling innovation and experimentation efforts in Canada.
