Conferences - U of R Sponsored
Join the Centre on Aging and Health and the Saskatchewan Seniors Mechanism for a zoom presentation with presenter Jason R. Vanstone, Ph.D., Research Scientist, Stewardship and Clinical Appropriateness, Saskatchewan Health Authority
Description of talk: Antibiotics are a precious resource. Bacterial infections that are resistant to antibiotic treatment are a growing burden on our health system. The problem is, the more antibiotics we use, the more antibiotic resistance we see. The idea behind antibiotic stewardship is to ensure that we use antibiotics wisely to prevent us from reaching a point where antibiotics are no longer effective in treating disease. This presentation will discuss the concept of antibiotic stewardship, why it is important to everyone, and what we can do to make sure our antibiotics can still be used by future generations.
