Accounts, Access, and Passwords

New employees will receive account access information from their department administrator. Users are required to activate their accounts online.

There are three primary accounts available to University of Regina faculty and staff.

1.  UR Self-Service account

Consisting of a 9-digit User ID (employee number) and numeric PIN, UR self-service is the web interface to the Banner integrated software package, and provides access to employee pay stubs and job history, payroll tax forms, personal information, and the APT and OOS timetracker.

The following applications use the UR Self Service 9-digit user ID and PIN to login:

  • UR Self-Service
  • FAST financial reprting
  • DOME web mark entry
  • CUPE web timecard
  • Online bookstore purchases
  • Staff parking permit purchase/renewal

2. account

This account consists of a username and password, and is the primary account used for network related access.

The account username and password are used to access the following systems:

  • GroupWise faculty and staff email system
  • U of R network access through Micro Focus OES client on campus computer system
  • Printing and copying
  • URCourses course software
  • eduroam wireless access
  • VPN virtual private network connections from off-campus
  • Banner ERP system
  • URDocs/Content 7 document management system
  • Administrator access to Footprints Account Requests

Visitors to the U of R who need to log into computer systems on campus may be provided with a limited temporary sponsored guest account.

3.  Banner/Oracle account

This account is used by designated staff and faculty to access reports and approve workflows, and manages the secure access to Banner ERP system forms. This account normally has the same username as the account but an independent password.

The Banner/Oracle account username and password are used to access the following systems:

  • Banner Workflow
  • Caspur Reports
