Textbooks For All

Textbooks For All is the Archer Library’s textbook lending program. Returning winter 2022.

Currently, textbooks can be requested through QuickFind or borrowed in-person at the Library Help Desk for a semester loan period.

About the Program

Recognizing the burden that textbook costs place upon students, the Archer Library partnered with the University of Regina Students’ Union (URSU) to pilot a textbook lending program in September 2016. Initial funding from the Library and URSU was supplemented with contributions from the Provost’s Office, the University’s 10 Faculties, Student Affairs, UR International, Human Resources, the Graduate Students’ Association, and First Nations University, totalling over $45,000.  The pilot project was evaluated and deemed to be a success. Library fines now cover ongoing costs of the program.

This is part of the University of Regina’s and Archer Library’s ongoing efforts to provide low-cost/zero-cost course materials for students.

As a result of COVID-19, we have extended loan periods for textbooks to a full semester.  We are not accepting purchase requests at this time, but plan to resume purchasing textbooks for Winter 2022 semester.
