General Information

Fines will be attached to your account. In the event that you are late in returning your books to us. The fines are in the amount of “$.50 per day per item” for regular loans to a maximum of $16.00 per item. This fine is charged whether the book is on loan from the John Archer, First Nations University of Canada, Campion or Luther Library. You will be blocked from borrowing library items if your fines reach $50.00.

If an item you have borrowed is recalled, this means that another patron has requested the item. In this case, you have 7 days to return the item. After 7 days you will be charged $3.00 per day per item; to a maximum of $16.00 per item. Recalled items CANNOT be renewed. While it can be frustrating to have an item recalled, remember that there may be other instances in which you may benefit from the ability to recall items checked out to another patron .

Any regular loan item can be renewed up to 5 times. You can renew items yourself by selecting the signing in on the  Quick Find screen and selecting My Account at the top of the page to view and renew the items you have checked out  or you can call or email UREAD (1-800-667-6014 or uread@uregina.ca) and we will renew your items for you. If you request a renewal and the item is already overdue you will still be charged the fines up to the renewal date.

If you have not returned the item after 32 days have passed since the due date, the item will be considered LOST and an automatic replacement charge of $66.00 will be charged to your account. This charge will be removed if you subsequently return the item in question.  You will still be subject to overdue fines.
